Original Watercolor Painting of the iconic Red Fish House in Pine Island Sound near Sanibel Island, FL. 18 x 24, horizontal format. Signed by artist, MB Wendt. The fish houses on stilts in Pine Island Sound were built in the 1920's - 1930's by the Punta Gorda Fish Co. They were originally ice houses where fishermen stored their catch until boats came to collect them. Many have been destroyed by storms, fires, vandalism and age, but five remain and are revered by local residents.
