This is part of my series on working Florida waterfronts which I am trying to document as they are rapidly disappearing. The Oyster fisheries of Apalachicola have been suspended until 2025 due to over fishing and families who have harvested oysters for generations are having to find a new occupation. This painting is of a father and son at first light harvesting oysters. I love the lighting and serenity of the scene.
